UI Designer As a User Interface(UI) designer you will be responsible for creating interfaces that are aesthetically beautiful and functionally effective, being the brains behind the beauty and interactivity of a website.

What do UI designers do?

User interface (UI) designers work closely with user experience (UX) designers and other design specialists to plan and execute everything from the choice of color palettes to the interaction of a drop down menu. They make sure that every page and every step a user will experience in their interaction with the finished product will conform to the overall vision created by UX designers.

What does a typical day at work involve?

  • Checked Designing each aspect of product to simplify and enhance the user experience

  • Checked Using Photoshop and Sketch to create interactive features
  • Checked Collaborating with developers and copywriters
  • Checked Creating, improving and using wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate ideas using any of these methods
  • Checked Presenting and defending design decisions based on the overall design roadmap as well as own design thinking and fundamental principles
  • Checked Performing revisions based on user feedback

What are the different specialisations in UI design?

Interaction design deals with the creation and engagement of web interfaces with logical behaviors and actions.
Responsive ,also called Responsive Web Design- aims to build websites with provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience.

How to become a UI Designer?

Step 1
Take any stream in +2

Students who have passed 10+2 (any stream- Science, Commerce or Humanities and Arts) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue their career in UI designing. However an orientation in Computer Science will be useful.


Step 2
Take B.des - UI & Graphics Design

Take a Bachelor’s degree in UI & Graphics design which is of 3 years duration.


Note:

Integrated Masters in design programs and Diploma courses are also available.

Step 3
Take Master of Design and specialise in User Experience

Take Masters in designing which is of 2 year duration.

PG diploma/ various certification courses are available
