Web Developer

As a web developer you will be concerned with the back end or the programming aspect of creating a website or Web application. You will be very fluent in the programming languages that fuel the World Wide Web.

What do Web Developers do?

Web developers will do collect or create web content (copy, images, videos, etc.), plan website layout and navigation, code the actual web pages, then test and optimize the website for superior user experience and optimum performance. Web developers get the design of the page from the Web designer and then use front-end development technology to encode these pages.

What are the job roles in Web Development ?

Deals with the client side of the website and will focus on how to make the interface (website) functional and visually pleasing to others.
Deals with the server-side programming.will be focused on the coding that takes what the front-end developer creates and adds utility and function to that to actually complete tasks.
Deals with both front-end and back-end development.

How to become a web developer?

Step 1
Take Science stream with Computer Science at +2 level

Studying Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science at the +2 level and securing a minimum score in these subjects would be a prerequisite for graduation in Computer Science in prominent Institution.

If you are not interested in PCM combination, but want to work in the IT field can choose Commerce or Humanities stream with Computer Application.

Step 2
Take B. Tech/B.Sc. in Computer Science or BCA

You can also do a dual degree (integrated B Tech and M Tech) in computer science.

Step 3
Take M Tech/M.Sc in Computer Science or MCA

After completing the UG you can go for Masters in Computer Science or short term course in Web Development. The Masters degree courses available in this area are two year M Tech or M.Sc. in Computer Science and three year MCA. Actually there is no hard and fast path for becoming a web developer. If you have the basics in Computer programming and interest in Web developing there are numerous courses available online.
